The Municipality has successfully secured funding from both the federal and provincial governments. Government funding will cover 57.7% of the total project cost, totaling $8,170,424.

The Municipality will fund the remaining 42.3%, or $5,429,576, through a combination of operational budgets and capital reserve funds, with no capital borrowing required. While this funding provides a strong foundation for the project, the Municipality continues to actively pursue additional funding opportunities through grants and foundation funding to further support the project and enhance its long‑term outcomes.

 The Village of Southern Victoria is excited to announce the development of a new multi‑purpose municipal building that will serve as a central hub for essential community services. This modern facility will bring together the Perth-Andover Fire Department, the public library, the village office, and the Active Living Fitness Centre—improving access to services while creating a more efficient and connected community space.

As part of the Flood Mitigation Project, this development will relocate critical infrastructure out of the flood zone and into a safer, more resilient location. The modern facility will enhance fire services and Emergency Measures Organization (EMO) operations, provide a larger fitness centre with expanded space and additional equipment, and include a public library with a dedicated programs room. The site will also feature a small park located adjacent to the library, offering additional outdoor space for community use.

With generous support from both the provincial and federal governments, this project represents a significant investment in the long‑term safety, accessibility, and livability of the community.

As municipal services transition into the new multi‑purpose building, Council will explore opportunities to repurpose the existing municipal facilities. The future use of these buildings will be carefully evaluated with a focus on supporting economic development and long‑term community benefit.

 

Council intends to consider adaptive reuse options that align with community needs, market opportunities, and revitalization goals. Repurposing existing infrastructure presents an opportunity to attract new uses, stimulate economic activity, and make continued, productive use of municipal assets.
